Full and Partial Scholarship Policy

The Coeur d’Alene Hockey Association (CDAHA) will not deny any child a chance to participate in hockey due to financial hardship. Full or Partial scholarships are available. Complete and return this form to the board for their review.

1) Committee Make-Up and Responsibilities

• A) The scholarship committee shall consist of no less than three and no greater than five members. This will include at least one board member.
• B) The scholarship committee solely shall be responsible for reviewing every scholarship application and allocating available scholarship funds.

2) The Scholarship applications

• A) The Scholarship Application deadline is October 15th.
• B) First payment (due at registration) must be made before a scholarship application will be considered. Scholarships will be applied to final payment(s) depending on amount received.
• C) Confidentiality of submitted information is guaranteed.

3) Eligibility Requirements for Scholarship Applicants

• A) This program is open to any eligible CDAHA player in good standing (Excluding $99 -Mites, Travel (Rep), and/or  current board members ;or at the discretion of the Board of Directors).
• B) Applicant must demonstrate financial need as well as desire to participate.
• C) If granted a scholarship, applicant must participate in at least one of the associations fundraisers. ($1,000 raffle, Dine Out fundraiser, or other)
• D) Applicant must be willing to conduct one’s self in an exemplary manner consistent with the ideals, rules and standards of CDAHA.
• F) Scholarships will not be offered to those players participating in another hockey program occurring during the regular hockey season.

4) Scholarship Funds and Distribution

• A) If awarded a scholarship, the money is applied to the players account.
• B) Each recipient will be required to participate in at least one of the association fundraisers.
• C) The remaining balance on the player’s account, if any, is the responsibility of the applicant.
• D) All accounts must be paid in full prior to March 1st following the end of the season.
• E) If granted a scholarship, the player and player’s family will be expected to volunteer their time for the association in some way during the year. Such as score keeping, working the penalty box, working at our home tournaments selling raffle tickets, and many other ways.

This year scholarships are available to players playing in the 10U (Squirt) through 18U (Midget) Rec divisions.  6U-8U (Mites) and  all Travel divisions are not eligible for scholarships. 

In order to apply for a scholarship, the applicant must be registered with CDAHA and have paid their first payment, due at registration.

You sell…. we take $20 of the profit to help with the raffle cost…. EVERYTHING else goes directly to your players account. These funds can be used to refund registration cost, cover tournament fees or any other cost for the season!

*unused funds at the end of the season cannot be returned- must be used to cover direct costs*
