UPDATED 12/16/2020 -COVID 19- Policy Update / Stage 2 Statement
The BOD met on 12/1/2020 and again on 12/15/2020 and have decided to leave the below decsion in effect until such time as the local and state government change their status. Our desire is to keep our kids on the ice and our members safe.
As of Nov 14, 2020, the state of Idaho is subject to the modified Stage 2 Stay Healthy Order. Thankfully, our state is still allowing extra-curricular activities for our youth! Unfortunately, spectators are subject to rules limiting gatherings to 10 people or less as stated in the stage 2 order.
Effective November 20, 2020, in accordance with the Stage 2 Order, Coeur d’Alene Hockey Association, has requested that the number of spectators is limited to 10 total at any CDAHA game or practice. This is a continued proactive effort to keep our association going and the rink open. CDAHA will communicate these expectations to teams traveling to play games at Frontier as well.
Some ways we can do this are:
Limiting to five parents/spectators per team at games while other spectators watch remotely using the rink camera links
Providing only essential Mite/Squirt player support by coaches, managers, and registered USA Hockey Parent Volunteers*
Allowing only essential registered USA Hockey adult participants in the rink, such as coaches, managers, score keepers, penalty box monitors, referees, Board of Directors members, and Parent Volunteers.
*USA Hockey Volunteers must be registered with USA Hockey, have current SafeSport training and Background Screening. Please ask your manager/coordinator for more details.
Please consider: A lack of spectators will not affect the development of your child. What will affect your child's development is a lack of playing hockey!
We want to keep our kids on the ice. Please help any way you can! Small sacrifices lead to positive changes and increased opportunity. Please follow the state's Stage 2 Order by social distancing and wearing your mask while at the rink.
We understand that the family culture/camaraderie of hockey is so important. It sets hockey apart from other sports. We are not alone in this fight to keep our kids on the ice as Washington has closed all indoor rinks through Dec 14, Boise recently closed their rink, and other Idaho rinks allow only local play. We are at risk of increased restrictions which could end our season. None of us want that!
Fortunately, the rink has cameras and we have been given access to them to view games and practices! Use the two following links to view games remotely.
The eBOD will meet and reassess the situation on Jan 4th, 2021.
We all thank our extended hockey families for the sacrifices they make to keep our kids safe while playing hockey!
